Default Range Sensor harness wire colors?

Hi all,

Im new here, Im in need of some expertise.

I have a 2001 Neon, I'm replacing the transmission (3 speed automatic) well when I dropped the old one I forgot to unplug the Range Sensor plug, two of the wires pulled right out of the harness only leaving one attached (ORANGE).

I got a new harness plug from a salvage yard but the wire colors are different. The wires in my car are
ORANGE,
WHITE WITH ORANGE STRIPE,
BLACK WITH BLUE STRIPE.

My new plug has
BLUE WITH GRAY STRIPE,
GREEN WITH ORANGE STRIPE,
BLACK WITH GRAY STRIPE.

The only wire I know to splice together is the ORANGE on my car to the BLUE AND GRAY on the new plug because thats the wire that didnt pull out from the old plug.

The number on the plug is 52772.

If someone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. I need to get this tranny put in so I can go back to work tomorrow.

Thank You.

Default Figured it out.

Looked at the harness on my dads '05 Neon and they match my old plug.

here goes

ORANGE CONNECTS TO BLUE/GRAY
BLACK/BLUE CONNECTS TO GREEN/ORANGE
WHITE/ORANGE CONNECTS TO BLACK/GRAY

But now my issue is, I test drove the car, it ran perfect, but when I got home it would not shift out of 1st gear. it has plenty of fluid in it (ATF +4) so I guess I'll try changing the speed sensors one by one, hopefully its one of those. I doubt its the transmission. It has only 87,000 miles on it.

Any advise would help.

Thanks

I never replaced those. I see there is an input, output, and transmission range sensor. I guess I have been lucky with 177K miles and they still work. Good luck
