High Idle
I need help ASAP.I'm a female, my boyfriend is at work I have a 2004 dodge neon manual. On start up the car shoots to its highest RPM.. He checked for leakes, changed the idle air control valve.. Cheked hoses can't seem to find anything can someone please help thank you.. if you need more info feel free to ask.. Thank You
first thing to check would is if your Throttle body is stuck wide open. Remove the air cleaner box and look at it.
Sometimes the throttle cable sticks. Air have to come from somewhere, it's have to by from your throttle body or Vacuum leak.
Also, try using a plier to pinch off the PCV hose, purge solenoid hose, and Brake booster hose. Sometimes those cause internal vacuum leak.

Sure do hope that you get an answer, I'm having exactly the same problem. I've removed the air cleaner box and the throttle is not moving, it's closed. Also removed the IAC and TPS connectors, no help. This started the other day after trying to crank the truck and it backfired. My truck is a 2002 Ram 1500 with 4.7 engine.
