coil pack eltrical hookup

i have a 2005 dodge neon 2.0. i am wanting to get a compression test done on it. how do i take the coil pack eletrical piece off? i also noticed when i took the boot off of the driver side spark plug there is rust on it. anyone know why or what causes that? thank you
