99 neon fuse 22 for a/c always burns
Hi there!
situation with this 99 neon:
as soon as I start a/c, fuse 22 10A in power distribution box burns. replaced a/c relay with another one, same problem, so relay was not causing it. i move forward, using the diagram found in haynes manual, and it looks like as soon as that a/c relay closes the circuit, the current flowing through fuse 22 should engage the a/c clutch, but not directly as commonly found on other cars but through a diode called DIODE 1. I disconnected the a/c clutch and fuse still burns. so must the only thing untested is the DIODE 1.
1) what is the purpose of such diode, did not really understood the logic, or maybe diagram not accurate?
2) where can that diode be found so I can check it?
Thanks!

it blows instantly, there is a short
furthermore, that circuit does not have the fan blower on it, just a/c comp clutch and diode 1.
i can solve problem myself only if someone can describe where the diode in the circuit lives.
