The dashboard in my 1998 Plymouth Neon does not work at all when the headlights are turned on. On occasion, when driving during the day, the gas guage, speedometer and temperature will work with the lights off. However, when the driver's side door is opened, the dashboard becomes fully functional. If someone would give me some pointers on how to go about fixing this, it would be greatly appreciated!

 

Usually a crack in the circuit board. Most can be rebuilt for about $100. Do a search for speedometer repair and find a place near you.
