2005 Neon with Engine Trouble
I have a 2005 Neon with 100+ miles. 2 months ago my check engine light came on and the code read "cylinder 4 misfire." I put in new spark plugs and installed a new ignition coil. Initially it worked, but a day later on a cold morning my car wouldn't start again. The next few days were warmer and my car started just fine. Yesterday the check engine light came on again. I haven't had a chance to check the code, but I suspect it's the same code as before. This morning my car took forever to start. It would turn over for about five seconds before momentarily firing then dying. It would not fire for good until I had the gas completely pressed to the floor. Additionally, I am getting terrible gas mileage. At a stop my car idles so rough sometimes I have to put it into neutral to get it to stop shaking. I suspect that I am having an issue getting an appropriate amount of gas to the party either too much or too little.
Can anyone help direct me from here? I have no idea where to go from here.
