Default 04 dodge neon sxt,
engine is running at 4000 + rpms without depressing the throtle.

Just bought an 04 Dodge Neon SXT, Drove it home and the engine is running at 4000 + rpms while the throtle is in the idle position. 2.o L automatic trans.

Why did you buy it then?


At any rate, have you done/checked anything obvious yourself yet? Stuck gas pedal, cable binding, throttle plate stuck, vacuum leak, etc.
