Hi new to neons pick up a 95 neon dirt cheap with some problems, first the check engine light is on and the wire to the o2 sensor is hanging can`t find were it plugs in to the wiring harness, second drove it home and now the gas gauge stopped working any ideas. changed the thermastate and the antifreeze and now the car is running hot made sure no air was in the system it has a 13lb. cap on it was thinking of dropping it to a 7lb. any ideas would really help

with the over heating problem did you install the thermastat in right and not upside down will not let it circulate the proper way

Do not lower pound rating on the cap as this will make it easier to boil over as the thermostat is at a set temp say 190 and lowering the pressure reduces the boiling oint of the coolant. So check your thermostat for proper orientation as some cars (Personall not sure about the NEON in this instance but some have a small hole in the thermostat that has to be aligned properly to allow proper venting and air lock prevention. But any how must check on what you did as if it was not a problem before and is now compare what you put in to what you got out and what is supposed to be there. Did ya get a bad part??? would not be the first time unfortunately.
