just wondering since i'm about to do an oil change in my 2005 se neon ,owners manual says to use 5w-20 oil and its at just over 108,000 miles, so should I use conventional still or go with high milage oil?
Either one is fine, I would go with whatever is cheaper. The important thing is that you change it regularly and don't use a cheap oil filter. Go with Mopar, Wix, Motorcraft, or Purolator for the filter.
I think most of that "high mileage" stuff and other "special" oils are just marketing fluff....stick with the recommended weight and schedule and you should be fine. And the cheap house/generic brand oils are made by the same companies that make the name brand stuff...read the API label on the bottle.
my owners manual says 5w-20 normally or 10w-30 for warmer weather. think I'm going with 10w-30 since it's never freezing and gets over 100 in south texas.
any thoughts on synthetic on a high mileage car? 164k.
