missing hose
I got a 2005 neon that has a missing hose coming off of the throttle body that I have no idea where it leads to. The car runs ok cold but as it warms up starts to struggle especially at lights. I have to put it in neutral and rev the engine so that it won't spit and stumble taking off. This hose barb at the throttle body has vacuum sucking air from the engine compartment. I can't find any pictures online of where the missing hose connects. Help or I will junk it.
They no longer make this hose. It should have a large elbow coming off the TB fitted with a plastic line which goes back to a quick disconnect at a line coming out of the firewall. It routes under the battery tray. Mine turned brittle due to heat and eaten by battery acid. Save both ends and reuse. Get some inside diameter hose that fits the quick disconnect and a plastic hose splice that will fit the new hose and elbow from the TB. Easy fix.
