my 2001 dodge neon is acting crazy. it’s got about 144,000 miles or so on it. i had the water pump, spark plugs and timing belt changed like 2 weeks ago. so lately in the past few days it’s been like going by itself at times. I noticed first as i’m slowing down between 20mph and 10mph it’s revving high. then as i’m driving it’s speeding up by itself. just today as I was coming up a hill near my house I took my foot off the gas completely and it was still going at 30mph. when I put my foot on the break it’s slowing down but I can feel the engine revving and humming hard. almost as if I had one foot on the gas and the other on the brake. it’s really scary cause I don’t know if one day it will completely not stop. no check engine lights the air and everything still running it’s just taking off on it’s own. anyone had this problem before?
