Default 05 neon dies on highway code p0340

So I have an '05 neon that died on the highway about a month ago. There were 3 codes showing, I've resolved 2 of them. An oil pressure sensor and camshaft position sensor were the first 2. The last one is p0340, which is related to the crankshaft position sensor. so I tried replacing that with an off brand sensor, with no luck. So I replaced that one with an o.e.m. sensor and still no luck. I can't get the car to start, but can turn the key and sounds like its cranking but just wont start. Anyone have any other ideas? no signal to PCM? damaged wiring? faulty PCM? I've had to replace a bunch of sensors on this car over the last 2 years or so, and some of the same ones multiple times. Don't know if that's an indication of something else going on as well. Any insight would be appreciated.

If you have an air compressor and leak down tester then perform a cylinder leak down test. Or remove front timing belt cover on top and check the timing belt.. Let me know what you find...
