Tranny swap?
Alright i have one more ? here, my neon doesnt have one of the factory tachs in it... can i go out and take a gauge set out of a neon that has one and bolt it in mine like a plug and play thing or do i have to wire it up. I thought i read somewhere that there is a plug already for tachs in the wiring harness but i'm not sure if thats true or not.
Absitively Posolutely. I've done it myself. Checked car-part .com for one on the east coast and found one for $40 shipped. It was from an automatic car but I was pretty sure it's match--there aren't actually all that many wires. It worked wunderbar but being an auto the redline was 6500 instead of 6750. It's okay, that gives me time for my reactions to shift once it hits 6500. LOL.
So . . . As Nike says: JUST DO IT! Simplist swap you're going to do and you might pick up a low fuel alarm or something like I did and wasn't even expecting.

Ok thats cool. That will most likely be my first mod, i'll probably pick one up out of a neon at the junk yard while pricing trannys
. But is there a way to change the milage or w/e so it shows the corect milage one the car still instead of what it shows on the car it came out of?
