The clutch has gone out of my 2004 dodge neon sxt. It was getting hard to shift between gears, and one day it made a spinning noise and the clutch pedal wouldn't disengage the transmission. I don't know the mileage. My question is, how hard is it to replace the clutch?? Is it a job I should attempt or pay the outrageous shop price?? And I can't seem to find any videos about the sxt anywhere. Everything is always the srt-4. And while I'm inquiring, when it rains my trunk leaks, and I get water in my passenger floorboard only when the car is sitting in the rain. Any advice on fixing that too?? Thank you in advance for any and all advice.

 

I recently replaced the clutch in my Neon. I don't think it was difficult just a pain in the ***. Its an awkward shape and heavy. We did it laying on the ground wrestling it in. I think it would be easier if I had a 4 post lift. Get yourself a factory service manual, not a Chilton repair manual. If the new clutch doesn't come with a new throwout bearing replace that to, since you are in there.

With the trunk the only thing I could think of that would leak would be the gasket or the rear spoiler I think? Take your garden hose and pour water around the seam of the trunk lid and the spoiler see if you can narrow down where its leaking from. I know rubber parts are getting difficult to find for these cars though.
