Default Engine Idle Undershoot

2000 Neon SE: Sometimes the engine runs really rough when idling and the vehicle is in drive. I can put the auto tranny in neutral and the rough idling/shaking will stop. Has anyone had this problem? If so, have you taken it to the dealer for a computer software update?

Thanks in advance.

Could be a few things. When was the last time you did a tune up? Wires, plugs, air filter? Also could be the IAT sensor.

I tuned it up approximately 2 months ago. New wires, plugs, air filter. Two days ago I changed the oil, tranny oil and filter. I try to take good care of my cars. I bought this one used. I did some checking and apparently there is a TSB for the symptoms I have described. I was wondering if others had experienced this phenomena and if so, what their solution was.
