I went though 4 belts in three weeks it usually happends i first and second gears. I tried all different tensions. are there any belt up grades? Ive been using cheap 8 dollar ones. all I have only bolt ons clutch and fly wheel. I found one of the belts and it is still in new condition. am I doing Some wrong or do other people have this problem because changing altinator belts on a regular basis is a pain in the a$$

I had my power steering belt come off on my R/T once after hitting the rev limiter, but no belt problems other than that.

You probably have the thing too tight on there, loosen it up a bit, and dont use cheap ****, with car parts you get what you pay for.

Never really head of that. I would go with a better belt and see what happens.

Is the alternator loosened up after this happens? Have you watched it running to see if one of the pulleys is out of line? I know that this has happened with some guys that don't get their new UDP lined up quite right.

no everything is lined up correctly and I used a paint stick to ceck if it came loose and it didnt I took Highline97jl's advise and loosened it up a bit I put the belt on loose and tightened it while the car was runing untill just a couple turns after it stopped squeiling and i hope it works its been a day in a half and no problems so far and Ive been pushing my car hard

I even raced an srt4 last night for the hell of it to test my belt situation and I wallked all over it It was boned stock except for a boost controller and the driver was inexperieced but he talked the talk and I thought I was going to loose for sure so i didnt put money on it. he even offered to through down pinks but better be safe than walking any other driver and i would have been but after i won im kicking my self in the a$$

You missunderstood I wasnt bashing the srt4 what so ever I have total respect for the srt4, but with out the right driver its useless I seen an old 70 year old couple driving an srt4 the other day man that in my mind is a waste in my mind no offense to the elderly
