Neon starts hard
I posted about this before but didn't get much response, so am trying again ... my neon starts pretty hard when the engine's cold, and it'll actually shake when it's starting, it's really weird ... I mean this is not like a little vibration, you can feel it. No, there's nothing wrong with the battery, I checked that thoroughly, cleaned connections, everything. Perhaps related to this, it seems to idle a bit rough, maybe a little more vibration than there should be. Any ideas?
Have you had injectors seviced or checked for oil contaminatio (PCV issue) n in the intake messing things up. Also does it get better when warmed up even though cold outside. Also maybe a throttle body cleaning.
That's exactly it, it's perfect when it's warmed up, even when it's cold outside. The outside tempature doesn't seem to affect it at all, it always starts hard when the engine's cold (been sitting for 4 or 5 hours) and starts fine when it's been warmed up or the engine is still warm from it being driven recently. It seems to me that the warmer the engine, the better it starts--if you leave it for a couple hours after it's been run and then go to start it again, when the engine is maybe lukewarm, it'll start pretty good but not great.
