Default Gauge Cluster

I've got a 1998 SOHC Neon Highline. It's an automatic so it doesn't have the tachometer. I found a gauge cluster in a wrecked Neon at the local wrecking yard. Would it be too hard to put that in my car. What would I have to do about the odometer? Any tips? Thanks in advance.

Default RE: Gauge Cluster

the manual for my 95 gives instructions for changing odometer from one to the other but when I looked at the diagrams it wasn't what was shown. I think many people on neons.org have come across that too and found it was a mess to get it out. You might want to just shrug it off and keep a log of true mileage (gonna sell it later?) I bought one that was within 5000 miles of where I was at when I put it on so I didn't worry about it much (especially since I'm running into the ground.)

There arent' that many screws and it's very easy. Pop off the top dash cover (held by pressure clips). Unscrew (4 I think) screws holding cluster. pull on cluster. Push on new. Do in reverse.

Best $45 I ever spent (including shipping).
