I am finishing up the repair of a 2002 Neon SXT. The computer located on the drivers side front radiatot support was replaced with a used unit. The computer has the exact same part number as the original. The car will not turn over from the key. I can jump it by hotwiring into the wire going to the starter but it will not stay running. Am I dealing with a security issue here and can the replacement computer be flashed to match my car?

 

The dealer is gonna have to flash the PCM to make it work.

 

I am going to have to find an article to show the local dealer. I stopped there and got a dumb look, I assumed a flash would be necessary but the technician didn't have a clue. I asked what would happen if I purchased a new one and was told it would need coded. Any hints on where to find a tech article, possibly written in crayon?
