what you guys think
ok I've been thinking about upgrading my 04 sxt heres what I want to put in it soon: CAI, 60 mm throttle body, intake manifold, headers(borla), dual exhaust (either borla or flowmaster), ignition system and I've been reading these posts and some of you have been saying that the ECU chip is worthless, since it does nothing for me HP wise is this true, get back to me with what you guys think, with your ideas and what else to put in it. peace
well here is the tricky thing to understand.
The ECU in the neon (stock) limis your MPH and your rpm and has a rev limiter.
We all hate these things and wish to alter them but dodge didnt make the 03+ neons with any ability to alter the systems. Thats where a piggy back performance ECU comes in. It will alter your fuel curves and give you more horses, but you will still be stuck with the same MPH limit and stuff of that nature. So, its lies that you wont see anything out of a performance piggy back ECU. Its that you cant get it to overcome the stock programming for the stock limiters.
Other than that, great list but id suggest doing some serious work on the engine beefore doing an intake manifold. Definately think about a good port and polish... stuff like that.
