Default Recharge A/C

Has anyone used the "DIY" a/c recharge kits? They sell do it yourself kits @ Walmart! I have a 99 R/T and I am wandering if it is easy to do? What coolant do I need to use? I know I just use the low valve, where is that located?

I've used them before on several cars, works just fine. The connector will only hook up on the low side, the high pressure plug is bigger.

To get the most of it, you should completely purge the system with a vaccuum pump, which means you'll technically need an EPA certification for AC&R, even for R-134a. Luckily for me, the Navy got me my cert years ago, and I have all I need to do the job... But if your system is mostly empty, just adding refrigerant to the empty system will do fine. I don't remember what the capacity is on the Neon. My Ram took 3 full cans after being purged, so expect to put in at least 2. Just keep an eye on the gauge and make sure you aren't adding too much too fast. And let the system run for a while so everything equalizes out, you may need to add a little more...

Best of luck!

DO NOT USE, I REPEAT DO NOT USE THE STUFF WITH SEALANTS in them they just make a mess of the system. More trouble than worth. R134 only. OK maybe a little PAG oil but ABSOLUTELY NO SEALANTS!
