Default Happy Father's Day to me

Man, I almost had this car (if they would be willing to ship):
http://www.neons.org/forums/viewtopi...213916#1213916

But when I got home to tell my wife I'd found the replacement for my neon we'd agreed upon last week she told me she had ordered "all kinds of stuff" for me for Father's Day.

Now. . . what does that mean? I've asked for a 2.4 engine I found in the area. I've asked for several cosmetic things. I've asked for a 3.94 gear, a short shifter, a new radio/speakers. What do you suppose she's done? I hope there's one from each of the five kids. HA!

I can't wait! . . . course, it means she won't let me buy another car for right now, but I'm even more excited than getting a new car 'cuz I don't know what she's done.

Let ya'll know in a couple weeks. (Man I love my wife!)

That's a nice looking Sport, too bad. Maybe what you get will be better in the long run.[sm=smiley2.gif] [Thinking quietly to ones self.....SRT-4][sm=smiley15.gif][sm=smiley2.gif]

Revisted:

Darn--nope, no SRT4 this year. She put her foot down and said no new cars until I get a significant raise.

But. . . I did get my present already: A really nice audio setup in my Neon. Honestly, I don't even know the name brands of the pieces but a pretty powerful four channel amp, new 6X9's and monster cabling run through out. Normally I don't pay to have someone do it--so that was the father's day present--full on audio. First car I've splurged and put something decent in there. It sounds sweet. It even over powers the wind noise and the 80 series muffler. Guess I'm not getting too old to enjoy "a system".

Also got money to buy paint and a couple other pieces--hence the reason I can't buy anything else right now. I guess the thinking was we just spent all that time putting a good motor and chassis together last Summer, I have to get a good couple years use out of it, but she wanted to make it look and sound a little better. . . .so I stop day dreaming about an SRT4???

I'm very pleased. My wife (and kids--although they didn't pick the gifts) treats me very well.

EDIT: just looked at the boxes: They're a Solid Audio F43 and a pair of Diamond M3's if that means anything to anyone.

That's cool. But the SRT-4 is still calling to you.[sm=smiley36.gif]

That was just one of the items I have on my wish list, but not one of the ones she actually bought.

It was a plain 2.4 from a 96 Stratus in a junkyard in Fresno. however, if you want a turbo 2.4 keep checking the car-part.com website regularly for both Neon turbo engines and PT Cruiser Turbo engines. Don't know what your price range is but $3000 for full pull out is pretty common.

. . . I know the SRT 4 is calling my name. Like a banshee. I just haven't gotten enough justification yet. It just doesn't replace 38 MPG on pump regular, and my drive is 150 miles a day. However, the wife says I must sell two cars to go buy one right now if I want. Actually, she said I have to "get rid" of two cars. I offered to sell the Jimmy and roll the Neon and then I'd be down two cars. . . . She didn't go for that idea--Especially since I've torn apart the camaro and the Spirit R/T and have no back up car right now.
