so i found a site that sells aem air intakes for $190. is it worth it or not? or is there something better out there?

 

depends, on what you want, if you live in california, which you dont, sure the aem would be good for the fact it comes with a carb exempt sticker. But since you dont, i recomend looking for the cheapest, and widest mendrel bent cai you can find. i bought mine for 30$ off ebay and alls i can say is it filters air just the same and gets me the same extra 10-15 extra horses as the aem would have, if i were to buy that one

 

What year Neon is it and what engine and transmission are in it?

 

If its for a 2nd gen then yes!

 

I've heard the iceman intake has slightly better gains than the AEM on the neon. I think the AEM looks better than the iceman, but who really cares about looks when its getting you more extra ponies.

 

it's an 04 sxt with the 2.0 non-magnum engine, and 5 speed

 

Get the Iceman CAI. If you don't like the textured black plastic look, you can try sanding it nice and smooth and throwing on a few coats of your color of choice paint. If done right no one will even be able to tell that it isn't a nice alumnium one.

 

It does come in colours also, i have a red one

 

That's right they do come in multiple colors now don't they.
