FUSE PROBLEM?!?! CAVITY 10 KEEPS BLOWING 15 AMP FUSE!!!
1997 neon SOHC MT many many things done within the last 2 weeks so very hard to determine what might have cause my problem my number 10 cavity in my interior fuse panel keeps blowing i can start the car and let it run but as soon as i drive 10 feet or so it will blow i have the correct fuse in also, when it blows my fuel pump will not engage or work, the manual says the number 10 cavity is "transaxle lock up solinoid-anti lock brake controller- anti lock brake relay- power train control module- evap purge solenoie- EGR solenoid" and i have put block off plates in place of my EGR solinoid also removed EGR Sensor(should i keep the black plastic sensor in even tho i eliminated my EGR Valve? if so how would i run my vacuumes?) but car was fine after letting it sit for 2 days went to go for a ride and it blew and keeps blowing when i drive a lil help please i could use it!! THANX
welcome you wll find a lot more answers in the first gen section, it sounds like you could possibly have a short some where or a bad ground. blown fuses notoriously come from bad grounds and shorts, wouldn't be a bad Idea to keep the sensor just incase you need to switch back to the legal mode unless you don't have to worry about emissions. what manual do you have? if you dont have a haynes manual or chilton manual then you might want to invest in one, saves a lot of time and money in the future. not really sure how you would run the lines but im sure someone in the first gen section could help you, Good luck !!
try unplugging one item at a time. hopefully it won't be the wires, then you can wrap the end connection in paper with a plastic baggie over it. if you just use a baggie it might melt and stick to the connection, not too good when you get the chance to fix the real prob. good luck.
