I was looking up parts to rebuild the Head for my 96 DOHC Neon - and the parts like the valve, Gaskets, springs, seats, and cam seals are showing all the same for the following vehicles

Avenger 95-99
Neon 95-99
Sebring 96-99
Mitsubishi Eclipse 95-99

Are these all the same engine?? or are certain parts just that universal??

This may help since I am needing a 2nd engine - my car engine has over 20 plus races on it and it is in dire need of a rebuild! Plus it would be nice to have a 2nd engine to swap out if I have problems and won't have to miss an entire weekend of races!

They are the same, except the ones in the Mitsubishi's, their heads are on backwards.[sm=smiley36.gif] Sounds funny, but it's true, the exhaust on theirs is up front with the intake on the back side.

 

actually on the non turbo second gens they are the exact same motor. My friend has one, that motor is way underpowered in that car.

Wow - that helps me out alot - I need a 2nd engine for my Neon - That should make it even easier to find that 2nd engine!
