Just a quick question. When you install a CD player on an 04 Neon do you have to take off the whole dash or can you just pop off the colored trim around the CD player/air controls?

pretty sure you can just pop off the surround and there should be 2 bolt that hold the radio in.

 

Yes, the trim pops off. Start prying from the bottom and work your way up towards the top. There is two screws up top, don't forget to take them out or else you can break the trim piece. The screws are behind the vents I believe, I don't remember for sure because I took my vents out when I took mine off. Shouldn't have to do anything to the dash though.

 

yes, take off the vents first and unscrew the 2 screws and then it should just pop off....

 

Do the vents just pop off?

 

yes they do. You can take a small flat head csrewdriver and stick it in the sides of the vent, and kind of pry them out. doesn't take much to do
