BATTERY LIGHT

Hi I bought a 2001 neon 3 months ago, at 43000km my battery light came on today for about 3 seconds then went out it hasnt happened since, should i but a new battery?

i wouldnt wory about it unless it comes back on. your belt prob just sliped alittle.
