2006 Neon? - Pic
Well, since DCX has a good amount of $$$ invested in Mitsu, it may be an effort to try to shore up Mitsu's declining financial numbers....they are "farming out" the Neon to them which has sold well over a million units. The SRT-4 represents a tiny fraction of that with only maybe 10,000 to 15,000 units sold per year...it's a "limited production vehicle". But it WILL be missed......
To me it looks like the current SRT-4 with a squared up spoiler, ugly wheels and a new nose from the bottom of the windshield forward. Everything else looks like the current SRT-4. One second I like the look of it and the next I can't stand it[:@]
The Dodge part comes in with the Rams head, and that's probably it.[:'(] The engine will be a radically changed Hyundai sourced engine, but it will basically be like the last generation Laser and the Stealth where the only difference between it and it's Mitsubishi source is slightly different sheetmetal/skin differences/styling.[:@][:'(]

Yeah, and they are going to cut their own throat by turning it over to Mitsubishi to carry. Who, in turn is going to ruin it.

Yeah, Diamond Star Motors. Yup, sure have heard of 'em. Although if you recall Mitsu was in financial trouble when DCx originally took them over and Mitsu yet again is in financial trouble. Remember the movie The Fast and the Furious?
Mitsubishi thought it would be a good idea to sell cars. How did they do that? Well, they priced all of their Eclipses really low, and on top of that to get the highschool punks and tuer wannabe's they sold them as 0% APR. Well, guess what happened to all those cars that the school kids, import tuner wannabe's and F&F geeks bought? They all got repoed. Why? The kids couldn't afford them and couldn't make their payments so Mitsu went ahead and took back nearly all of their Eclipses that were sold after the first F&F. That's a few million dollars down the drain. I couldn't imagine that being too good for the company. So, in turn DCx is in talks to eliminate Mitsubishi all-together and sell them off to get back their loses. Now, I doubt they'll get rid of Mitsu. But, I don't think that turning the Neon over to them as a way of saving the company is good either.
Oh, and as far as Eagle. They no longer exist.

Where did you find out what Mits had to take back most of the Eclipses that they sold after F and the F? I never heard anything about that. Now, I'm not calling you a liar, I'm just confused. Besides the movie came out in 2001. They didn't have 2nd Gen Eclipses anymore and the new one doesn't look nearly as good...
Yes, I know the original movie came out in 2001 but the 2nd gens came out alittle bit after that. So, the 0% down was for the new ones, I remember seeing the commmercials for it. And I forget what site I read that Mitsu was in trouble on it didn't specify what the causes were but it did say that DCx has been in talks for quite some time on getting rid of Mitsubishi. I wish I could remember what site I saw it on.
They did take back quite a few Eclipse's due to the 0% APR and having people not being able to pay for them.
