Just got a 99 neon from a friend to use from college. the problems are it leaks oil a lot and what exactly can i do to fix that? and what should i check? (im a newbie to cars). Also the try the windshield wipers but they dont work. seems as though no power...maybe lose wire? And sometimes when i drive it all the gauges just die and i have to tap on the glass to get them to come back is that just another lose wire? thanks for the help. detailed please im an idiot! lol

 

where is the oil leaking from? for the wipers sart by checking the fuses, hot the motor directly to the battery see if its good. with the gauges there is a common problem with them, try re soldering the connections on the back of the gauges.

 

Take apart the dash and pull the board out of it. This is what you are going to need to reflow: The areas inside the yellow circles. Do not push too hard otherwise you will push the pins out of the board and you will have to reflow the whole board.
