What would cause your horn to be stuck on?
This happened a while ago.....and since i fixed my first problem, I was wondering what would cause your horn to be stuck on. I saw the diagram of the horn contact pad in another post, but im wondering what would make it stick?
It could be the switch itself, a shorted wire in the column or unlikely a bad relay.
I couldn’t find a wiring diagram for the horn. However, there is a Black/red horn trigger wire that runs from the switch to the horn relay (grounding this wire makes the horn sound). If you pull the relay the horn should stop. Now test the black/red wire if the switch is stuck it will show a short to ground. The black/red wire should be accessible on the lower steering column and at the horn relay socket.
The other option is to remove the air bag to access the switch. If you do this make sure you disconnect the battery or pull the airbag fuses prior to removing the airbag.
