Can I put an 04 SRT-4 Turbo Motor into an 04 SXT Automatic? Will it hook up to the tranny? What else would be required to do to do this successfully? The reason I ask is because I can get one really really cheap. Help please. Thanks

 

I'd imagine it could. Course with an ATX it may need a bit more work but who knows. I'm not really sure what is involved with the swap but I'm sure it can be done.

 

From what I've heard and seen, the motor will go in pretty easy. But, you may have to switch to the manual tranny. The 2.4 might bolt on to your 2.0 ATX, but my instincts say no.

Yes, from what I've read it should drop right in a 2nd gen. I think you'll need the SRT tranny. I know you need the wiring harness and pcm from the SRT4, but I think that is about it (if I remember right, I read it over at neons.org). Might need the bumper and hood, not sure on that one though. So you need the motor, wiring, pcm, and maybe hood and bumper. I saw a different person over at SRTforums swap it into an RT, looked sweet. HERE IT IS. Anyways, check that out, I believe he says exactly what you need to do it.
