Default Spark Plugs

I just got a tune-up on my 2000 Neon ES at the Dodge dealer and I am upgrading my car improving performance. I was thinking about getting some Accel U-grove Spark Plug STD Heat Ranges to improve my performance. I have a Pacesetter header and exhaust system, AFX UDP, AEM CAI, and some more mods on my car. I still haven't put my 19lb Accel fuel injectors on my car yet. If get the spark plugs by themselves, will that improve my performance or shoud I get the MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor Spark Plug Wires SOHC-s to go along with it? I am going to get a throttle body but I want a small mod to improve my performance while I continue to save up for the TB. Should I even bother[X(]?

The MSD plug wires will give you a much hotter spark than the stock wires. Even with the plugs, you won't see a major performance gain, but it should help your engine run smoother and increase your mpg a bit.

I strongly suggest you contact www.modernperformance.com
They have a toll-free number and carry the MSD plug wires. They ship in stock items fast, as well.

i need to do that..

i also need to call junkyards and find a throttle body off an automatic... that would give me a wider TB

For best performance just sitck with either the stock champions or go with some ngk coppers. Fancy plugs will get you nowhere, neons just don't like them. A new set of plugs and MSD wires would be all that I recomend but your probably not going to notice a difference. I would save up and install a cam before you install a TB, You will be much happier with a cam.

Any particular reason that you guys opted for MSD wires over Magnecor?

Hello! I am new to DodgeForum, I have a 2000 Dodge Neon ES. Can anyone tell me what spark plug performs the best on one of these neons? I have been told not to use any platinum plug but I did anyway and it ran bad.

Wow; a resurrection of a 2004 post.

Champions are good.
I have Accel spark plugs that I'm going to install with my MSD wires. The Accels should be pretty good too.
