Default intake

i just ordered a short ram air intake last night. (with a reusable filter)
does anybody have the short intake? i saw on the description that
they usually give about 5-10 horsepower. i don't know if it's true, but
i can't wait. [&:]
oh, also i was thinking of getting strut tower bars. i heard that they give better steering.
what do you think? do you think i should get one?

Most aftermarket intakes will add some noticable HP and torque due to the fact that the factory intake directs the air through a narrow channel over the engine, through the air filter, and then back down along side the engine to the TB. By this time the air has had plently of time to heat up. The majority of aftermarket CAI systems correct this design flaw (except for the AEM kit). The HP you gain from your new intake will depend largely on where the filter is located and what the air is routed past before getting to the TB.

Strut tower braces will give a lot better feel and a lot quicker reacting steering. I have a strut tower brace on my 95 altima and the response of the steering is amazingly quicker then that of my 94, which doesn't have one.

altima's right. i just put dc sport bars in my '04 neon. it's amazing how much better handling you can get out of a simple bolt on piece. in my opinion, if you like hard cornering it's well worth it.

actually, i saw one on the ebay for $42 with S & H. what do you think?
cheap? or not. give me your opinion.
it's made out of aluminum but the edge is made out of steel. so it's light and
won't slow down the car.

You can get a pair (front and rear) of strut tower braces here:
http://www.modernperformance.com/dcx..._braking.shtml
for 79.99 or 39.99 a piece.
