Hi folks, I am new here and I am having a problem with my 2007 Nitro. When we turn on the air conditioner it blows out warm air! I live in Chicago and we are going thru a major heat wave. We tried to refill the freon and that was a no go and now someone said it could be my compressor.... Would the air even blow if the compressor was broke??? Any info would be greatly appreciated

 

Trying to refill the freon without knowing if it is low could kill your compressor. Locate the compressor. Start car with AC on. Look at the front of the compressor and check if the electric clutch is spinning. If not find out why not.
