Default Nitro Check Engine light is on...

Good morning, well it's -20° here in Michigan. My wifes Dodge Nitro had a dead battery and I needed to jump it. Now it has a check engine light on it. How do I get the codes to come up? I remember doing the on, off, on, off, on with my 04 Ram. But that doesn't seem to be working on my nitro. Any ideas?

Going from Off to ON 3 times should do it.
What year and model is your Nitro?

It's an 07.. I didn't get any codes.. I think it had something to do with the sever cold weather we had..

If you have an advanced auto parts or something of the nature, they usually have a code reader handy and will let you pull the code(s) if you ask them, for free. Then come back and let us know/research.

P0706: Transmission Range Sensor A circuit.
P0562: Engine system voltage low.

I'm thinking it's all related to the sever cold we had. -20° so the battery needed a jump and I"m willing to bet the fluid in the trans was so cold, it was thick, and took a minute to thin out once the truck was started.. This is on the 2007 Nitro, V6, 4WD...
