2007 Dodge Nitro RT check code trick
Hey all - our daughter just found a really nice 2007 Dodge Nitro RT 4.0L and the check engine light has been going off and on. The dealer told us it was an O2 sensor, which they replaced both at no charge. And now me, being the good dad that I am, have been trying to read the codes by using the key trick of off on off on off on. But it’s not giving me a reading. Is the RT any different than the others? I wouldn’t think it would be when it comes to the key trick.

that only works for obdI vehicles...pre 1996. anything 96 and newer is odbII...requires a scan tool to retrieve codes. code readers only access powertrain codes...codes that turn on the check engine light. Your vehicle can set body, chassis and undefined codes as well....full function scan tool needed to access b, c and u codes.
