Default Charging problem.

2007 Nitro. 240,000 miles. Alternator fried, and battery went dead. I replaced the alt. and battery and now the battery light comes on after driving just a few miles. The alt. seems to only be putting out about 20 amps. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

New or rebuilt alternator? What voltage is it putting out? I’ve had more than a few that were bad out of the box.

It is rebuilt, but they checked it before I left the parts house. I'm guessing it's going to be the ECM. On my amp gauge, It's only putting out about 20 amps.
