Requirements for Juice
Hey guys, I have a stock '99 2500. I'm going to be getting a new tranny soon (I saw a decent one on ebay with a torque convertor up to 850ft lbs of torque). What else do I need to be able to handle the Juice at each stage? I don't want to break anything, I eventually plan on replacing most of everything in the future, but for right now, what do I need to run each stage? Thanks.
Other than the tranny on that '99, the only thing you would need to upgrade for the Juice is a the injection pump.
What kind of mileage is on the truck and has the injection pump or lift pump been replaced?
Before you throw the Juice on it, get the fuel pressure (pre-injection pump) checked. If that is low, you'll want to replace that first. Otherwise, you'll dry out the VP44 and be looking at a $1K + repair.
The only other thing you'll need is the boost elbow to up the pressure the turbo can provide. The 04.5+ trucks are electronic, so the Juice takes car of that. But before that, the waste gate is mechanical and needs to be fixed in order to up the boost.
Otherwise, have at it. Yo

I have about 156K miles.
I'm pretty sure the lift pump got replaced last year sometime, because I remember my dad mentioning we didn't want to ruin the injection pump. Boost Elbow? What exactly is that?

The boost elbow allows you to control the turbo pressure, which you'll need to do once you start adding fuel. Add fuel and no air and all you get is high EGT's.
Here is waht you are looking for. Just look on e-bay, they are pretty cheap.
