OK, Newbie to this forum so be nice...
As my sig says, I have a 2003 3/4T and am told they switched to the 48re in mid year 03... Mine seems to have been built around Oct of 02 going off the door panel. So which tranny do I actually have? Is there is any easy way for me to read the panel of the VIN to tell me this? I love the truck, but am always concerned about the horror stories I hear about the tranny's. It's most used to pull a 10,000# horse trailer during the summer. It's the flatlands of Kansas so it does not have to work that hard, but it does get HOT here. The warning light has never come on, but I still wish it had a gauge.... Ok I have rambled enough... thanks for the help!
