Warranty work not related to your modifications
OK guys you have your truck just the way you want it with all kinds of nice engine mods to make it jump like a scalded cat. Then you have a power steering pump or disc brake or sun roof issue. You want these things repaired under warranty so do you strip off all your stuff (even though the problem is not related to your mods) and then bring it in?? If you don't will the dealer mark your VIN in the computer that the engine has been chipped (or what ever it was you did) and void all future engine or truck warranty??
I know that they can not void your warranty for using non OEM maintenance items like filters but that act does not cover modifications.

To be safe.........REMOVE ALL CHIPS,PROGRAMMERS, BOXES, ETC.
If it raises an eyebrow.............pull it.
It may have nothing to do with anything and that's a good way to be. No sense in getting hassled over something that isn't an issue.
Heck, evenif you are bringing it to the dealer for an oil change, you are better off pulling it.
Now, if you mod it and you break it(obviously not the case you are talking about here).....own up and pay it. Otherwise, the rest of us pay for it down the road.

To be on the safe side, I'd remove the chips and stuff that can easily be removed. I wouldn't sweat the Aero and stuff like that that would be a major pain te remove, but easy stuff to remove like a chip I would.
Either way, I belive they have to prove that whatever mod you did was the reason for the warranty being declined. I don't see how they can void a warranty for a leaky sunroof if you decided to put new rims and bigger tires on.
Bottom line ... it's easier to remove certain things from your truck now than it is spending the time fighting it out later.

I work in a dealership and if we see anything that could void warranty we have to flag it.

I am more of a sceptic myself, I belive it would be more likelybeYOU or Ithat would have to prove the issue is not related to the aftermarket modification, not them. If they don't have to fork out the dough they probably wont. Just a thought. I am in the same boat. I want to do exhaust and filter and am a little nervous about doing anything.
The POS dealer here will flag you if u have a freakin sticker on ur truck. The owners office is inside the shop office, so he sees everything that comes in. I hate ppl like that,, they ought to be drug out back and shot,,,,,,,,,,,,execution style.......
