Default FRONT SHAFT SEAL

Hi, i new with Dodge, i buy a RAM 2500 BIG HORN EDITION 4 X 4 2006 WITH THE CUMMINS. I leave in the Dominican Republic, and i buy this car like one week a go, i went to miami to recived, it looks very nice, i change all the liquids (oils), all the filter, and everything is fine, but when we check the two differential, the shaft in the front one, was liking a litlle bit. I export the Ram to my country, but i buy the front shaft seal to changed here. I would like to know if some one know about this.

And the other Q. is what is the diference on the Ram2500 4 x 4 slt on the Ram2500 4 x 4 BIG HORN EDITION.

Thanks and sorry about my writing in english.

Big horn is just a trim package, in other words nicer seats and stuff like that. To change the seal, you'll want air tools, mainly an impact wrench a good 1/2" drive should do it.

Welcome to the forum Rafael.

That is a common thing that your differential was a little low of fluid. Many people have seen the same thing. People have thought the manufacturer did this on purpose for some reason. The dealer should have checked all the fluids before selling it but, many don't. You should be ok just filling it to the correct level.

I believe the Big horn edition Ram have a few thing that the SLT doesn't. (Not sure on this ) -- Electric locking differential for one ( posi trac ) and maybe a little different interior. I don't know other than that.

just as jake said. . .it's just a trim package, nothing more. diffrerent grill, different dash inlays, thats about it.

as far as the diff's, I would pressure wash the pumpkin real good, then keep an eye on exactly where the leak is comeing from. Just cause the diff is a bit slick looking doesnt mean it is comeing from the diff. . .there could be something else dripping onto the diff causeing that.
