I, too, am tired of the GW stories. I watched Gore's "special ed." show afew times. The biggest problem is he bends the truth and has just too many "if"'s tied to everything. He makes statements on the program that simply aren't true. I was a believer, for a while, but the more I read about it, the GW thing is driven by politics not science.

I have this "Global warming" conversation with at least one person or another at least 1 time a week.

Here's how I shut em up, and it really isn't that hard ...

Ask them to watch the news tonight and to pay attention to the weather. Yes, it's hot and muggy out, but the next part is where you REALLY need to pay attention !! The next words out of the weatherman's mouth will be something like " We almost reached the record high of "X" set back in 1975".

If we're trying to break a record set over 30 years ago how is that considered global warming? I'll start to worry once we start breaking records set from the year before consistently. Until then, go pound sand !!

YOURE ALL A BUNCH OF WHACK JOBS!!! [sm=joke.gif]

no, really, the libs of the 1970's had a "theory " (enter Al Gore) that the earth had a global cooling problem.. that just didnt take off well. then in the 80's, they devised the crap shoot idea of "global warming". well that held better than crazy glue in an oil slick. since then the libs/ dems have eaten themselves for dinner more times than i can count....research shows that the earth was 5* hotter back in 300bc or so. it lasted for several hundred years.

do you know where Greenland is? Its called Greenland from the time of the first vikings arrival. the plains were full of grass and trees. now its a winter waste land....the last "ice age" that the earth experienced was during the middle ages. it was on a down ward swing when George Washington crossed the patomic river in the winter. known as the "little ice age".

new evidence shows that the northen hemisphere is warming, and the southern hemisphere has not changed as a whole. the temps in the antarctic are the same and have been since they have been recorded.

I guess that makes it "hemispherical warming"! CHOKE ON THAT GORE!!!!! [sm=badbadbad.gif]

if ya think about it, it makes sense. most of the worlds population does live in the northen hemisphere. 90% of the 1st world countries are north of the equator. not saying its a problem, just interesting.

when this earth/ sun warming cycle ends, we will cool off again for a few hundred years.

btw..did ya hear Al Gores new idea??? He says we have to cool the sun off. global warming is not the issue, the sun is gettin too hot (paraphrased) you can find it from a congressional broadcast a few weeks ago.

ill buy the first drink for ya Gore...[sm=alcoholic.gif]

Honestly, I agree with nick, but also I think we have not really been on the earth recording data enough to come to a conclusion. For all we know, this is just a regular cycle of the earth that happens every 1,2,3,4,5 ect. million years. And, how acurate can our info be, OH MY AN ICE AGE

All I know is that it's getting hotter and more humid here in south Texas by the year.....a few years ago we broke the all time high temp reading at 111 degrees (some places reported 114).

The area around my property in Colorado has also seen warmer than normal temps in the past years. Snow in the mountains is less than normal meaning water run-off for the Rio Grande riverand water for the farmers is more expensive. The only good news is that it's easier to pan for gold in the streams........

I also remember 2 years ago it snowing in Harlengin, Texas on Christmas. How come nobody mentions that. This year we have been on pace to be one of the wettest years yet. I don't necessarily believe we are going into an ice age I am just tired of people wanting us to drive hbrids or other shoebox by raising the price of fuel. Also why can't we have deisel cars in certain states because there state govt. is run by liberals who are afraid of deisel cars ( they get good fuel mileage) The whole global warming issue has become political and al wants to ride the wave to the white house. I have to say he is pretty smart in how he is doing it.. First they takeour trucks then our guns what next our land or families sounds like socialism to me

They've been worried about the temps climbing in the northern hemispere for the last 20 years. What happened about 20 years ago??? Mt Saint Helens blew up!!![8D]
