I went with afe stage 2 with the p/g 7 filter but I also run a prefilter over that. Only on about a month but the prefilter for sure keeps anything with any size out of the filter. Just a thought. Not sure if they make one for the k&n or BHAF.

Before buying the Amsoil filter
look at how fast the restriction builds up on the older clean-able Amsoil
and the KN:

See how the two shades of green lines are 'rocketing upward' ?

Unless you are going to clean a filter every week
average restriction over time is more important
than restriction when brand new

That is NOT the Nano "Aa" filter by Amsoil... The nano filter is NOTHING like an oil gauze filter in the graph.

I put in the nano drop in filter and can not budge my filter minder. (14K on the filter) With a NEW stock filter I could pull it 1/2 way down! (Smarty on #9)

If the filter minder does not move don;t do PM on it... when if gets dirty blow it off like the instructions tell you... Once it stops flowing well even after cleaning the get a new one... 100K maybe? Better flowing than stock by a long shot, and cheaper.

The K+N ones have slight dirt in my intake (post filter) when checking. On a motorcycle that will only go 50K miles before you trade it or sell it no big deal, maybe even in a sports car a K+N like filter may be OK, but on a high mileage high CFM truck *I* would not use one.

The Amsoil nano filters extremely well + FLOWS too!

ok guys. I was reviewing this thread and have decided to ask for any ideas.

as we know, my 93 ctd has the old canister type air filter.

I would like to go with a nano filter from amsoil but have to make changes to accomodate.

any suggestions on size or structure of filter???

on that graph, I got one question. you are complaining about the filters cloging but where would you like the dirt to go, in the filter or your motor? I agree, that isent the same as the new filter but just had to ask.
