Default Question regarding the FS2500

Does this work in conjunction with the stock oil filter or does it replace it. I went to their web site and it's quite impressive what this filter system does. If someone uses synthetic oil with this system, how often would the oil change intervals be?
This is my first diesel, love my truck and I've learned or been made aware of much information from this forum.
Thanks everyone.

It takes a small amount of the oil and puts it through a smaller filter meterial to clean up what the main filter can't get out, but you couldn't use this filter alone you wouldn't get the oil needed to the engine.

But it does supposed to extend you oil changes, but the main thing it's supposed to keep the oil cleaner.

I'm interested in hearing from those who have it for a while and how they feel it working

Just bought one thru ebay for $ 239.00 plus shipping. It's a new unit with the filter element from a company that had many in inventory for industrial trucks, but was liquidating them. It doesn't come with the hoses or fittings but I can pick those up locally. I'm looking forward to installing and checking the difference in oil conditions. I'll post a new thread when that comes along.

you just use a 1/4 NPT fitting on the top of the filter houseing, then you need to find a way to get the oil back to the engine, one way is to run the line straight to the oil pan, the most popular is to have the oil run to the filler cap so fresh oil is introduced to the top of the engine.

Someone, maybe Genos sells a oil filler cap with the return fitting in it already. Then you just need to pipe it to there and your set.

Go to Ebay and just do a search for "FS2500"
There are two of them on ebay at this moment. One is a "buy now " price of $239.50 plus $20.00 shipping.
The other is an auction beginning at $185.00 plus $20.00 shipping. The last auction ended at around $237.00 plus shipping but took 9 days to end. I've seen the auction price as much as $300.00. Might be better to just accept the buy now price and not compete with others trying to win. I'm not sure how many are left, could be as few as a dozen or so. I feel it's worth it, just have to find the pieces parts to complete the install.
Good Luck...........
