Default Wheels and Tires??

I have been looking at getting some new wheels and tires for mytruck. I have been reading all the stuff from the leveling kit manufacturers, andmost all say thattheycan clear 35's with their 2"-2.5" leveling kit. So the other day I tookone of my brother-in-laws wheels/tires off of his truck and threw it on the front of mine just to see whatwould happen. It was a pro comp xterrain 35x12.50r17 on a moto metal 17x9 wheel. I do not have the leveling kit yet but I put a jack under the frame of my truck to expand the wheel well an extra 2" as if the leveling kit was installed. The tire was not even close to turning, it rubbed the body almost instantly (maybe 1/4 - 1/2 of a turn on the steering wheel). I believe is was due in part to the fact that these wheels were 17x9 opposed to the factory 17x8, which made them "swing" kinda, instead of just rotating (if that makes any sinse?). Anyway, they looked sweet on my truck when the wheel was not turned, so I would like to put 35's on if possible, but I do not want it to rub at all. If 35's are not an option then this is what I have picked out, pro comp extreme all terrain 305x65r17's on pro comp alloy 7089 17x8 cast blast wheels(the wheelsare the same size/offset/backspacing as the factory wheels). Can anybody tell me if this will work without rubbing, with or without the leveling kit? Or is there anybody that knows how to get 35's to fit with just the 2" leveling kit? Also if anyone has pictures of their own truck with or without a leveling kit with 33's or 35's that would like to post them, that would great!

I seriously cannot afford to buy a set of wheels and tires that end up not fitting onmy truck, so if anybody has any other information that would also be relevant to this topic please post it.

Thanks guys,
Aaron

Thanks for the quick response. Your truck looks perfect, I think that is just about exactly the look I would like to achieve. Of course everybody always want to go bigger but I would rather it not rub so it is functional (and dosen't just look good). Yours does clear, right? Thanks moconst.

Keep the pics coming guys. It is gonna take alot of them to convince the wife that I "need ;-)" the new wheels and tires.
