Need a little help/advice
So I had my truck on the dyno the other day trying to figure out what is going on and found out a few things. First the edge juice w/attitude costs me more power the higher I turn it up. On level 5 it cost me 38 ft lbs of torque. Wierd cuz it will smoke more, but makes less power. That isn't just one run that the stock setting came out highest, I think I did 2 dozen runs trying to figure stuff out. I tried disconnecting the alternator because I've heard that sometimes a diode can go bad and it will leak in AC, that didn't help. I put in a diode on the pac brake actuator per tst's suggestion in their faq, didn't help. I pulled out the MAP sensor and cleaned that to try to see if that could be the problem, still the same thing. Any suggestions as to why the chip would cause a loss of power? I know it is getting the fuel it needs. I would like to get a chip working again because that was a lot of fun, but I mean the truck does fine without it (298 hp and 654 ft lbs at the wheels at 7258 ft above sea level without a chip) The thing that has me worried is that I have an exhaust leak somewhere, but I can't find it. It seems to be coming from somewhere at the back of the engine and it blows smoke out the driver's side. It isn't coming out of the exhaust manifold and it only leaks when the turbo starts to spool. I tried crawling around under there and figuring out where it is coming from but couldn't find it anywhere. I ran it without an air filter so I could see better, but I still can't figure out where it is coming from. The truck doesn't use a drop of oil and there is no water in it which makes me think the head gasket if fine. Is there any reason for exhaust to be on the intake side of the engine on an 02?
