Default Dealer service?

I bought my truck with 54K on the clock from a Dodge dealer in TX. I know they "serviced" it because hey told me so, and I am pretty sure they did due to the new Mopar oil filter and clean oil, andthe fluids under the hood were all good to go.
So my question is what all did they they change or inspect? I found the air filter too dirty for my taste and changed it, even though the filter minder said it was good. All 4 shocks were shot, so I replaced them with Bilsteins.
I am going to tow a car hauler trailer about 2K miles next weekend and I am debating changing the fuel filter and rear diff lube, but if I am reasonably sure the dealer did it, I won't bother. What should I do?
Another quick question-I see several people with the Mag-Hytec diff covers and I am going to put one on my truck when I get a little cash. Yesterday after towing 5K lbs about 50 miles, I got under the rear to see how warm the diff was. It was too hot to put my hand on for more than a second or two. Is this normal? The Mag-Hytec covers have a bung for a temp guage, but does anyone have one? Can I use an Autometer auto trans guage temp on the diff?
Thanks.

I would say that if you're not sure when the the fuel filter and rear diff fluid was changed, I'd do it to be sure. I'm not sure about using a trans temp guage for the rearend, I'm sure somebody knows though.

I know that the Mag covers have holes for gauges, but i don't know what gauge you would use. I don't know if there is such a thing as a "diff gauge" or not.

Good question though !!

I would use a temp gun to see what kind of heat you diff is making and then buy a gauge with that as the middle of the temp range. I'm pretty sure a trans temp gauge would do perfectly, but I've never held a temp gun to my diff to see what kind of numbers it's putting out.
