Pumping diesel out of truck
As hurricane season approaches, I'd like to be able to transfer fuel from my truck to my motorhome to run the generator. Is there a easy way to connect a hose to my truck and pump diesel fuel?
Buy a length of fuel line at Autozone, and a drill driven transfer pump. You can buy an electrical pump as well. Then shove the hose down the truck filler tube and suck all the diesel out that your little heart desires....LOL.
Good luck with your ride.

That would work if you can get the fuel line past the anti-siphon ball. If you were in a real pinch, disconnect the hose from your filler tube and do the above bypassing the metal filler tube.
Wouldnt you want to leave some diesel in your tank, just incase something happens and you are forced to leave? Why not just fill up some portable diesel tanks, and put them in the shed.

I've used those big rig nozzles with out any problems at all. Maybe i don't have a ball ??

I think they may have switched to the bigger filler hole between the 1995 and the 1998 24v motors. Anyway when you stick the fuel nozzle in the tank you are actually putting it in a metal tube with is attached to the tank via a section of hose. Right were they join is a plastic ball in a metal housingin the metal tube which keeps thieves from being able to steal your gas, it may also work to plug fuel from leaking out the tube if you tip the truck over.
