I think it depends on you. If you dont know the difference between a screwdriver and a hammer then you probably did ok. The cummins motor is warranted for 100k miles so you really payed that money to cover everything else most of which wouldnt cost that much to fix especially if you know how to do it yourself. I would never personally buy one of those warranties but I can fix just about anything.

I think if you maintain everything proper and do not beat the crap out of your truck all the time you could do without it. the way I see it is the manufacture/dealership is not looking to give money away whether it is in labor, parts, or anything else so they are counting on your truck lasting longer than the warranty they offer.

The warranty was purchased through my local dodge dealership, it was the one they reccomended. The main reason I purchased it was so I do not have to worry about working on this truck. I farm and it seems like all I ever do is work on tractors, or some other piece of equipment. It is kind of nice just dropping it off, getting into a loaner truck and going. Plus it seems like any time a take a diesel pickup in to get worked on it is 1,000 bucks. 95% of the time I can fix things on my own, but with the moneyI have wrapped up in this pickup I figured it is just better for the dealership to mess with it. The dealership has two mechanics I really trust. PS. pictures are coming as soon as my wife helps me figure out how to post them.

I ran the warrenty up to 100K on my wifes Jeep. We maintain it well but she also packs on the miles. All was well and then at 80K fuel pump went out. Then at 90 it went back in for the tranny and transfer case. All told the extended warrenty paid for itself twice. Good idea if ya ask me.

I was going to extend it on my truck but then I started throwing parts at it and figured it would justgo to waste. It would probably just get voided.

Ifyour gonna play you gotta pay!
