Default wont start warm

i have an 03 cummins 4x4 with that damn automatic trans. recently it takes alot of persuasion to start when its already been run. sometimes three or four long cranks. it always starts right up when its cold. any help, injectors,injection pump? any ideas? help!

vapor lock? (is that possible with a diesel?)

also check the electrical plugs in the wire harness under the hood. if the one for the computer, injector pump, or any other major piece is lose or shorting..it might be the problem.

my 93 (yes, a smidgen of a bit older than yours) had a bad plug that fed the starter relay. it kept the starter from engaging - dead truck. spliced through the harness and no probs since.

its gonna be a "wheres waldo" game for a bit till ya find the prob.

sound like a Jackhammer when your trying to start it and it doesnt want to start???

if it sounds like that ... look at the Lift pump and main pump...

I'd say your lift pump is dead. . .get that bad boy changed out for something better. . .and please dont do the intake dealership pump[:'(]
